A key meeting point for festival directors from France, Europe, and around the world, Nuits sonores launched the European Festival Lab in 2011.
This professional programme is dedicated to teams running contemporary music and digital creation festivals, as well as their partners. Its aim is to create a space for discussion and reflection, exploring the political, economic, social, and cultural issues surrounding festivals at a European level.
Topics addressed include artist mobility, communication in the digital age, relationships with tour promoters, sustainable development, young audiences, and the growing importance of stage design.
For its first edition, Nuits sonores’ European Festival Lab brought together 200 European festival directors.
