Whitney is the editor of electronic music platform Resident Advisor and the former editor of Electronic Beats, Deutsche Telekom's music marketing program.

Primarily a journalist and critic, Whitney writes about club culture and experimental dance music scenes around the world. His papers have appeared in The Guardian, US Vogue, Pitchfork, Mixmag, FACT, Highsnobiety and Numéro Berlin.

In 2020, she became a mentor for the Factory Berlin, Sónar + D and Beats by Dr. Dre artist residency program and was selected by Shesaid.so and Native Instruments Alternative Power 100 Music List Honoree.

In 2021 she was a board member of the Clubcommission Berlin "Day of Club Culture". Whitney is also a graduate of Barnard College at Columbia University and was a 2017 National Geographic Fulbright Semi-Finalist for her Urban Nightlife Fellowship proposal. She is based in Berlin.
