Simone Pieranni lived in China from 2006 to 2014 where he founded China Files, a press agency in Beijing which provides news on China to the Italian media. He has also been Beijing correspondent for the Italian daily Il Manifesto where he worked until May 2022. He is the author of "Red Mirror, il nostro futuro si scrive in Cina" (2020, Laterza) and "La Cina nuova" (2021, Laterza). Since May 2022 he is working on Chora Media. In 2017 co-author with Giada Messetti of “Risciò” a podcast on contemporary China and in August 2022 with Chora Media author of the podcast “Taiwan: perché”.
