Commitments

1

To campaign for culture that is democratic, challenging and accessible to all, with stronger links to citizens and public policy;

2

To warn elected representatives and policymakers, both in France and across Europe, of the need to support emergence and new cultural project leaders;

3

To defend the capacity of culture to be an instrument for emancipation, social strengthening, and economic and territorial development;

4

To affirm the role of culture as a weapon of mass reconstruction, at the service of both a democratic revival and a Europe-wide reappraisal of the citizen project;

5

To promote a new generation of changemakers in Europe, by showcasing up-and-coming projects from all over the continent;

6

To strengthen independent culture and media and new economic models for culture, in order to offer an alternative to traditional institutional structures and cultural capitalism; one that is capable of combining artistic rigour with economic viability, while remaining in the public interest.
